Illustrator Zach Franzen had already created a beautifully hand-drawn visual world for an ebook about contact-center agent churn. Then he handed it to me with a challenge: make it move, make it interesting—and make the water feel alive. My job was to take static illustration and turn it into a cinematic visual story without losing the character of the original artwork. That meant creating motion inside the drawings, building depth through compositing, and turning a sinking-ship metaphor into something that felt atmospheric rather than simply animated. Following the video’s release, ebook downloads increased roughly 3×, and it became ASAPP’s most-viewed ebook of the year.
